Service Description

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga that focuses on holding passive postures for longer periods of time, typically ranging from 3 to 5 minutes, and sometimes even longer. It is designed to target the deeper layers of the body, particularly the connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia, as well as the joints. By holding these long-held postures, Yin Yoga helps to improve flexibility, increase circulation, and promote a sense of relaxation and inner calm. Unlike other types of yoga that emphasize dynamic movements, Yin Yoga involves holding each pose for an extended period, usually between 3 to 5 minutes or longer. This allows time for the body to release tension and stress from the deeper tissues. The postures in Yin Yoga are mostly seated or reclining and are held in a passive way, meaning there is little to no muscular effort involved in maintaining the pose. Props like blankets, bolsters, or blocks are often used to support the body and help the practitioner relax more deeply into the posture. Yin Yoga is meditative, and much of the practice involves being present with the breath and sensations in the body. The long holds encourage mindfulness, helping to cultivate a deep sense of relaxation and awareness of the present moment. Yin Yoga is also inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and works with the body's meridian system (energy pathways) to help balance the flow of energy (chi or prana) through the body. Certain poses are thought to stimulate and release blockages in these energy channels. The slow, meditative nature of Yin Yoga helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system to provide stress relief and deep relaxation
